Finally 18...
Yes, that's right. Not me, but my drum school "Drumstudio 77", which I founded in 2005 in the beautiful town of Much, Germany.

Your school is special because you don't only offer lessons there, but also directly at the students' houses?

It can be a problem to reach the nearest school, especially in rural areas. That's why I offer face-to-face lessons at the school or we go to the students' homes.
One of my specialities is that I offer "Pipe Band Drumming" - online as well as face-to-face.

Pipe drumming and e-drums, that's an interesting mixture. How do you use the GEWA digital drums at your school?
I think nowadays it is important to give students a deeper insight into the possibilities of e-drums. It is very practical because it offers additional options to the acoustic drumset.

You have chosen a GEWA G9 Pro in carbon look. What are your experiences so far?
The Gewa digital drums take electric drums to a new level. The sophisticatedly produced sounds and an almost fluent dynamic gradation allow a natural playing feeling on the high-quality drum sets. The connection and setting options have everything covered via the touch display. It's a lot of fun to play and teach on my G9.

As a musician, you have toured a lot with the band "Schelmish" at home and abroad and you also rock the stages regularly with your current band "HELLGREASER". Your passion for pipe drumming is also definitely something that runs through your education and school?
Definitely! I have accompanied several brass bands myself and have been an examiner for the VMB in Germany (NRW) and an instructor for the National Youth Pipe Band Germany since 2008.
A project close to my heart is my new book, "Pipe Band Drumming". It will be published by AMA Publishing in 2023.

Wow! Teacher, educational author, and also examiner. You have a lot of insights into the musical development of students. How do you see the possibilities for support, especially in Germany?
My greatest wish is that musical education be integrated and promoted more in the school system.
